The iPod Video (5th generation) and iPod Classic (6th/7th generation) both share Apple’s old signature 30 pin dock interface.

It is an important feature on any iPod, but damage to the bottom docking port can create issues and faults resulting in the iPod not connecting to a computer or being unable to charge.

Sometimes a build up of dust and debris can cause these problems, but if cleaning the iPod’s dock doesn’t help, or if part of the dock is broken off or damaged then you will need to replace the dock connector.

Replacing the dock is not an easy task, it requires the desoldering and removal of the old dock, then the new dock connector must be soldered into place.

We offer a repair service which will fix a damaged dock with the installation of a replacement, contact us for more information.
