The 30 pin connector found on the bottom of your iPod is used for charging, syncing with a computer via USB and connecting to an external audio dock. If the pins on this dock connector are loose, bent or there is damage you’ll need to have a new port soldered to the logic board.
If the board looks visually in good condition but you are experiencing problems when connecting, there’s a chance a pin may still be damaged internally and need soldering back in place.
Dock connector replacement for the iPod Classic 6/7th generation and iPod Video 5th generation is available via our repair service.
We cover all closing models including the 80GB, 120GB & 160GB A1238 6G/7G and the 30GB, 60GB & 80GB A1136 5/5.5G.
