The iPod was released before USB charging was standardised. Consequently, many modern USB chargers don’t work with the 5th generation iPod Video (A1136) or the 6/7th generation iPod Classic (A1238).

If your iPod won’t charge with your existing charger, connect it to a computer via USB cable and make sure the device is still charging. If it charges via the USB port does won’t work with your charger then you need to get one of our compatible chargers.

The Apple A1299 charger is a 5 watt, 3 pin wall plug with a USB type A connector that will let you charge your iPod from the mains. Pair this charger with a USB cable and you’re ready to recharge your device.

Please note, the A1399 looks identical but is not compatible, with the iPod, it is an iPhone charger which will not charge your iPod.
